Website Speed: What to Measure and Fix
Measure mobile loading, responsiveness and stability, then connect improvements to inquiry quality rather than universal conversion claims.

Avoid a universal revenue formula
A slow page can frustrate visitors, but no single percentage describes the cost of each extra second for every business. Device, connection, page purpose and customer intent all matter. Use your own visitor and inquiry data when evaluating an improvement.
Distinguish lab checks from real visits
A lab test helps diagnose one set of conditions. Field data describes real visitors over time, when sufficient data is available. State which one you are using. A new or small site may not have enough field data for a reliable assessment.
Use the current experience measures
Core Web Vitals cover loading with LCP, responsiveness with INP and visual stability with CLS. Good targets are LCP at or below 2.5 seconds, INP at or below 200 milliseconds and CLS at or below 0.1, assessed at the 75th percentile. A good score does not guarantee a search position.
Fix the cause you measured
Check the main image, image dimensions, fonts and third-party scripts. Serve appropriately sized images and avoid unnecessary work before the main content appears. Reserve space for media so buttons do not move as the page loads. Re-test the pages customers use, not just the homepage.
Check the complete journey
A fast page with a confusing offer or broken form still loses opportunities. Verify navigation and inquiry delivery alongside performance. Compare qualified submissions and customer outcomes after changes, allowing for traffic mix and seasonality.
